Sidney Morgan

6th Grade Homeroom Teacher

ELA & Social Studies

Hello. My name is Sidney Morgan. I graduated from Indiana University Southeast with my Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education in 2019 and with my Master's degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Language and Literature in 2022.

I have experience teaching students in grades 6 through 12 in writing, English language arts, yearbook, and TV/Radio. I have also taught college level courses, including: ENGL-111 (composition), ENGL-206 (literature), and ENGL-215 (rhetoric). One of my passions is awakening a love of reading in my students. I also enjoy learning and implementing new and innovative teaching strategies in my classroom.

I live in Jeffersonville, IN with my husband, two kids, and three dogs.

7th/8th Grade Homeroom Teacher

Math & Science

I graduated with my Masters Degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University studying animal behavior. I've been teaching over a decade just about every field of science (Earth Science, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Neurobiology, Anatomy).

I believe that students learn best when they can see and touch science and have an active part in the process. It is far more important to me that they can explain the how or why then remembering vocabulary. There is nothing better than seeing a student connect the dots or ask those deep questions that help them see how they connect to this amazing world we live in.

I have a small farm with goats, chickens, and a horse. I have started a disc golf club for women and love the outdoors. While I've been teaching for over a decade I was pre-vet throughout college and after graduating undergrad worked as a zookeeper which was a unique experience-full of snow leopards, red pandas, and a wolverine!
