Standardized Test Scores and MAP Testing
Students at the Islamic School of Louisville have historically scored above average on their standardized exams. From 2014-2016, ISL used Terra Nova exams and ISL's mean score was approximately 70th percentile for those three years. Beginning in the 2016-2017 school year, we are excited to announce ISL's transition to a new testing system known as MAP (Measures of Academic Progress). The test is an adaptive test, which means that each student receives a unique test based on responses to previous questions. In other words, if a student answers the question correctly, he or she will receive a more challenging question. If the student answers incorrectly, he or she will receive an easier question.
ISL students will be assessed three times a year, (September, January, and April), using the MAP exams. Our first assessment in the fall was very informative as the majority of ISL students scored above average, in the high-average and high range. In addition, the assessment allowed us to identify students who will be provided with increased academic support.
Below is more information explaining the MAP exams and how to use your child's test results to find resources to provide academic reinforcement at home.
